Heather M. Parsons, D.M.D.
Dr. Heather Parsons is originally from the Northern Nevada area, specifically the small town of Virginia City. Growing up in a small town has given her an appreciation for the importance of being involved with and growing the community that she is a part of. From her early high school years she was involved in volunteer and community activities, including being a student advocate and integral part of the team that developed, designed and eventually built a community center in Virginia City. She then went on to the University of Nevada, Reno where she volunteered her time with Big Brothers Big Sisters as a mentor, and coached Volleyball with Galena High School. Shortly after graduating UNR in 2007, she left the nest and spent her Dental School tenure in Boston, Massachusetts and then moved on to residency at Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, New York. Although the east coast was a great experience and provided a lot of growth and adventures, she was very excited to have the opportunity to move back home after completion of residency in 2013. Moving back home meant having all her favorite activities back in her backyard—skiing, hiking, boating on Lake Tahoe, and trail running with her dogs. She was very honored and humbled to take over Valley Pediatric Dentistry in the fall of 2016, after spending a little more than a year in the office providing care for the families of the Carson Valley and surrounding areas. She stays committed to continual learning by regularly attending courses to provide her patients with latest techniques and technology, and has strengthened that commitment by completing her Board Certification process through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She stays involved in the community through serving as a Trustee on the Douglas County Education Foundation Board, volunteering at the Northern Nevada Cleft Palate Clinic, and supporting various athletic and academic programs in the Carson Valley.
